80's Birthday Greeting

The Brief: Create a birthday greeting video using stock footage and text. Inspired by a recent Stranger Things binge (Season 4), I leaned into a retro '80s aesthetic—incorporating textured overlays, bold graphical elements, and playful text animation to elevate standard stock footage. One of the main creative challenges was making generic stock clips feel unique and engaging. Midway through the process, I was also asked to remove any imagery showing parts of a woman’s body deemed immodest. This required replacing some footage entirely and creatively modifying others—at one point using After Effects to digitally extend a model’s dress and cover exposed skin. Despite the limitations, I adapted the template to remain dynamic and stylistically cohesive. The template includes both male and female versions and adapts to display the viewer’s name, age, and birth date.
